After moving from El Salvador to the United States, I pursued a B.S. in Architecture from Texas Tech University. During my time at university, I worked for multi-family housing firm Humphrey’s & Partners Architects based in Dallas, Texas. I went on to graduate with a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. During my graduate years, I focused on small home design, sustainability and architectural ethics. I currently work as a designer with A2 Collaborative.
I also worked for the Texas Tech University’s Library System as a 3D Architectural Designer. My obligations included meeting with faculty to discuss ideas and then I would propose design models to be 3D printed and used in a classroom learning environment. I have 3D printed microbiology structures as well as famous buildings such as the Empire State Building.
I am driven by innovation and sustainability. I am inspired by research and the creative process. Current topics of interest include: Biomimicry, sustainability, affordable housing, and ethical design. I understand architecture as a way to help current conditions whether they are social, potilical or environmental, architects play major and critical roles within these topics. I want to find a way to combine both my interests in the creative process with innovation as my future contribution for architecture. I seek to be surrounded by experimental minds that can help me grow intellectually and guide me during my career.
